Fistful of cilantro
After delivering burritos by moped for a few months, Paul Zarate has graduated to a lunch wagon (pictured above). The laid-off government worker and DJ (he was Mano Lopez of Fistful of Ganas on KTUH) is now serving his Mexican food daily. To find out where he’s parking, follow him on Twitter: @zaratez. Today he’s on Kawaiahao Street behind the former Advertiser building. Think I’ll have some al pastor tacos for lunch. Read Jason Genegabus’ article on Zaratez Mexicatessen in the Star Advertiser.
Eat and about
Bonnie Friedman has relaunched her Tour da Food website with new features and a regularly updated blog (disclosure: we are friends, and I’m mentioned in it). Her insider food tours definitely aren’t for visitors only. Read my Honolulu Weekly blurb on Tour da Food.
Pulled pork sliders

In the starch-o-matic land of plate lunches, southern food is a big draw, and Sean Priester has created an instant winnah. Read my Honolulu Weekly blurb on his spot opening at the bottom of St Louis Heights Dr.
